Burden of the Wait

If only you would come,
To string the broken chords
Of a heart,dripping blood!

If only you would come,
Like the homeward bound birds
Singing to the dusky sky, their even song!

If only you would come,
Sailing across the shimmering waters,
Gleaming, like  gold of the retreating sun.

If only you'd come
Riding the waves and tides,
To melt the frozen moments,
Caressed by your touch warm!

You'll come,
Whisper the budding flowers,
They flower before the winter's done!

You're coming,,
Your footsteps resonate,
In the blood ,in my veins pulsating,
Throbbing, rushing and screaming.

(My dreams keep me awake,
My wishes, not mere desires,
I long for them to be carved ,
Intricately, in all my prayers!)
                                    Chandni.
