Dreamless

Sleep is wide awake
In the silence of dreams
The nocturnal sky,soulless
Sailing through barren shadows ,
Naked eyes,fiery red
Fixed on the invisible horizon
To watch the dawn break
On an invincible vision.

A Longing

Cofined
Muted
Ignored
The eternal wait to break free
Before the walls close in
And bury the words
Leaving only a vacuum
Filled with empty sighs
And echoing whispers!

A Little Girl’s Monsoon

Rain,rain don’t you go away/
No matter what they say/
Nothing makes the trees happy this way
/Look how the leaves dance and sway/
How you make the rivers swell/
And make the brook gurgle and fill the well/
Our paper boats toss and turn/
You fill us with so much fun/
The sparrows and the magpies, bathe in the puddle/
The sleepy dogs lie in a huddle/
The raincoats and the umbrellas/
To the green, add many more colours/
Oh,how I’d love to play with the water/
But mummy says,”You will be ill,my dear!”/
So I watch you on the window panes/
How you twist and turn through roads and lanes/
You lend beauty to Nature/
Dear Monsoon, you are welcome, always and forever.

Poetry

It doesn’t take reprise,
To write a poem,
Just a few drops of rhythm,
And words that will suffice.

Poetry is religion,
Where there’s poetry,there’s divinity,
A poet’s God is reflected in verses,
God’s poetry,in Nature’s infinity .

Verses sneak in ,unannounced,
From light and dark perforated ,
It digs root in the soul,
That ,the heart had started.

When the world looks on blankly,
Blind to atrocities and deaf to screams,
Poets compose colours,
Sketch hopes and dreams

I pore over words poetic,
Where they come from I wonder.
Are they in the script,
Or,are they the souvenirs of a dream peddler?
